AiSensy is one of the most popular WhatsApp marketing tools in India, and for good reason. It is priced in rupees, it has a free plan, and it makes WhatsApp broadcasts easy for teams that have never touched the WhatsApp Business API.
But a lot of D2C brands reach a point where broadcasts are not the problem anymore. The problem is what happens after the customer replies. Someone still has to answer the sizing question, send the payment link, confirm the COD order and book the courier. That is where brands start looking at alternatives.
This page compares four of them on what they actually cost in India and what they are actually built to do.
Disclosure: Behaf is our product. It is listed first because it is the one we know best. Its trade-offs are listed as plainly as everyone else's.
First, a pricing change that affects every tool on this list
From 1 October 2026, Meta changed how WhatsApp Business messages are billed in India (Whautomate, citing Meta's rate card):
- Service messages are no longer unlimited and free. Non-template replies sent inside an open 24-hour customer service window now carry a per-message fee. Each business number still gets 1,000 free service messages per calendar month; after that, each one costs ₹0.115.
- Utility messages inside the 24-hour window are now charged at ₹0.115. They used to be free.
- Marketing messages have cost ₹0.8631 each since 1 January 2026, up from ₹0.7846.
All of these are Meta's own rates before 18% GST. Whichever platform you use adds its subscription on top, and most add a margin on each message too.
For a brand that handles a lot of customer questions on WhatsApp, this changes the maths. Support conversations used to cost nothing. Now they have a meter running. Keep that in mind when you compare the plans below.
AiSensy at a glance
Plans: Free plan available. Basic at ₹1,500/month and Pro at ₹3,200/month on monthly billing (CampaignHQ).
Add-ons listed on AiSensy's pricing page (AiSensy):
- Drag-and-drop chatbot builder: ₹2,500/month for 5 chatbots (₹2,250/month billed yearly)
- AI Agent builder: ₹1,350/month for 1,000 AI messages (₹1,215/month billed yearly)
Message rates listed by AiSensy: ₹1.09 per marketing message and ₹0.145 per utility or authentication message, paid from a prepaid wallet (AiSensy). For comparison, Meta's own rate card for India is ₹0.8631 and ₹0.115 before GST.
What AiSensy does well
- Rupee pricing and a free entry plan
- Simple broadcast campaigns to large opt-in lists
- Unlimited users under a fair-use policy
- Good fit for teams sending offers, reminders and updates at volume
Why brands look for alternatives
- The bill grows in pieces. The plan, the chatbot builder, the AI add-on and the message wallet are separate charges.
- It is a messaging tool, not a store. You still need a website or storefront, a checkout, and a way to handle COD and shipping.
- AI is metered. 1,000 AI messages a month on the add-on goes quickly if customers ask real product questions.
What a typical month can look like on AiSensy
Here is an example using the listed prices above. It covers a brand on the Pro plan that adds the chatbot builder and the AI add-on, and sends 5,000 marketing messages in the month:
| Item | Monthly cost |
|---|---|
| Pro plan (monthly billing) | ₹3,200 |
| Chatbot builder add-on | ₹2,500 |
| AI Agent add-on (1,000 AI messages) | ₹1,350 |
| 5,000 marketing messages at ₹1.09 | ₹5,450 |
| Total before GST | ₹12,500 |
This is an example, not a quote. Your number depends on your plan, your billing cycle and how many messages you send. The point is that the headline plan price is usually less than half of the real monthly cost.
1. Behaf: Best for Brands That Want WhatsApp to Sell, Not Just Send
Best for: D2C brands selling fashion, jewellery, beauty, wellness or food, where customers ask questions before they buy.
Pricing: No monthly subscription and no setup fee. 5% + ₹5 per shipped order, plus GST. That fee already covers Meta's message charges, the AI and the payment gateway, so there is no separate WhatsApp message wallet to top up. The first 100 brands lock in 5% for life; the standard rate after that is 10%.
What it does: You register at in.behaf.co and we verify your documents. Then you upload your catalogue from the dashboard, and your store goes live as a web view inside Behaf's WhatsApp number. Customers browse products, ask questions and pay without leaving WhatsApp.
An AI sales agent trained on your catalogue answers questions about size, material, fit and delivery, in whatever language the customer writes in. It suggests products that go with what the customer is looking at, and collects payment by UPI, card or cash on delivery. Confirmed orders go to Shiprocket for pickup and tracking.
How it differs from AiSensy: AiSensy helps you send messages. Behaf is built to close the sale inside the conversation. The storefront, the AI agent, checkout and shipping are one product, not four add-ons. (More on that in WhatsApp catalogue vs a real store.)
Strengths
- You pay only when an order ships, so a slow month costs nothing
- Store, checkout, COD and shipping are included, so you do not need a website
- The AI agent is part of the product, not a metered add-on
- About 10 minutes of uploading once you are verified
Trade-offs
- Your store runs on Behaf's WhatsApp number, not your own business number
- Behaf is not a bulk broadcast tool. If your main need is sending campaigns to a large opt-in list on your own number, AiSensy or WATI is the better fit
- Per-order pricing is cheapest at low and medium volume. At very high order volume a flat subscription can work out cheaper, so run your own numbers
- Behaf is new, so there are no published customer case studies yet
2. WATI: Best for Support Teams Using a Shared Inbox
Best for: Brands where several people answer WhatsApp chats and need one shared inbox with assignment and tags.
Pricing: Growth ₹2,199/month, Pro ₹4,899/month and Business ₹14,799/month, all billed annually (CampaignHQ). Meta message charges are extra.
What it does: WhatsApp Business API platform with a team inbox, broadcasts, chatbot flows and integrations with Shopify and other stores.
Strengths
- Mature shared inbox for support teams
- Wide range of integrations
- Solid broadcast and automation features
Trade-offs
- Not a storefront; you still need your own website and checkout
- Starting price is higher than AiSensy's
- Advanced automation sits on the higher plans

3. Interakt: Best for Brands Already on Shopify
Best for: Shopify brands that want WhatsApp catalogue, broadcasts and cart recovery connected to their existing store.
Pricing: Growth ₹2,799/month and Advanced ₹3,799/month on monthly billing. Starter has no month-to-month option: the advertised ₹1,166/month is billed upfront quarterly (₹3,499), or it is ₹999/month billed annually (₹11,999). Annual billing saves about 20%. The Sales CRM is a separate subscription from ₹2,499/month (Zoko). The Enterprise plan is the one advertised with no markup on template messages, so expect a margin over Meta's rates on the lower plans.
What it does: WhatsApp CRM with catalogue, broadcasts, chatbot flows, Instagram inbox (on Growth and above) and deep Shopify integration.
Strengths
- Strong Shopify integration for abandoned-cart and order updates
- WhatsApp and Instagram in one inbox from the Growth plan
- Established product with a large Indian customer base
Trade-offs
- Marketing and sales CRM are separate subscriptions
- Starter is billed quarterly or annually, not month to month
- Still assumes you have a website store behind it

4. DoubleTick: Best for Sales Teams Selling One-to-One
Best for: Businesses where salespeople sell through personal-style WhatsApp conversations, such as jewellery, furniture, B2B distribution and high-value retail.
Pricing: Per-plan subscription plus Meta message charges. Check doubletick.io/pricing for current plans.
What it does: Mobile-first WhatsApp CRM with a team inbox, broadcasts, catalogue sharing and sales pipeline tools, designed to be used from the phone.
Strengths
- Mobile app that suits sales teams who work from their phones
- Good for consultative selling where a person handles every sale
- Team inbox with chat assignment
Trade-offs
- Relies on people to do the selling; automation is lighter
- Not a storefront or checkout
- Costs scale with the size of your team

How to choose
If your main job is sending offers and updates to a big opt-in list: stay on AiSensy, or look at WATI if you also need a stronger support inbox.
If you already run a Shopify store and want WhatsApp connected to it: Interakt.
If a sales team handles every conversation one to one: DoubleTick.
If you want WhatsApp to take the order, not just send the message: Behaf. The store, AI agent, payment and shipping work together, and you pay only when you sell.
You do not have to pick only one. Some brands keep a broadcast tool for campaigns and use Behaf as the place those campaigns send buyers to.
Switching from AiSensy
To WATI, Interakt or DoubleTick: these are all WhatsApp Business API platforms, so you are moving your number from one provider to another. Plan for a short switchover, re-create your message templates, and export your contacts first.
To Behaf: you do not move your number. Your Behaf store runs on Behaf's WhatsApp number, so you can set it up alongside AiSensy and test it on real customers before deciding anything. Once you are verified, upload your catalogue, share your store link, and point your existing AiSensy broadcasts to it.
Frequently asked questions
Is AiSensy free?
AiSensy has a free plan. Paid plans start at ₹1,500/month (Basic) on monthly billing. Chatbot and AI features are paid add-ons, and messages are charged separately from a prepaid wallet.
What is the cheapest AiSensy alternative?
It depends on how you use WhatsApp. For broadcasts, AiSensy itself is among the cheapest. If you want to sell through WhatsApp, Behaf has no monthly fee and charges 5% + ₹5 per shipped order plus GST, so a slow month costs nothing.
Did WhatsApp message pricing change in 2026?
Yes. Meta's marketing rate for India went up to ₹0.8631 per message on 1 January 2026. From 1 October 2026, non-template service replies inside an open 24-hour window are charged per message: the first 1,000 each calendar month stay free, then each costs ₹0.115, and utility messages inside the 24-hour window are no longer free. These are Meta's rates before GST; your platform adds its own charges.
Which AiSensy alternative has a built-in AI sales agent?
Behaf includes an AI sales agent trained on your catalogue at no extra charge. On AiSensy, the AI Agent builder is a paid add-on. On other platforms, AI features depend on the plan.
Can I use Behaf and AiSensy together?
Yes. Many brands use a broadcast tool to reach their list and point those messages to a store where the order actually happens. Behaf runs on its own WhatsApp number, so it does not conflict with the number you use on AiSensy.
Try selling inside WhatsApp
If your customers already reply on WhatsApp and you are paying for broadcasts, chatbot add-ons and a website just to take the order, Behaf puts the whole sale in one conversation. About 10 minutes of uploading once you are verified, and no monthly fee.
