Interakt and Behaf both put your brand on WhatsApp. They solve different problems. Interakt is a WhatsApp Business API platform: an inbox, broadcasts and automations on your own number, usually wired to a website. Behaf is a storefront inside WhatsApp, with an AI sales agent that takes the order, the payment and books the courier. This page lays out where each one fits, what each costs, and how to choose.
In short
- Interakt gives your team tools to talk to buyers on WhatsApp. Behaf does the selling in the chat for you.
- Interakt charges a monthly plan plus Meta's WhatsApp charges, and your payment gateway bills you separately. Behaf charges 5% + ₹5 per shipped order, plus GST on that fee, with WhatsApp (Meta), AI and payment gateway charges included. Nothing in a month you sell nothing.
- Pick Interakt if you already run a website and a support team. Pick Behaf if your orders start on Instagram and you want them closed inside WhatsApp without a website or a team.

What Interakt does well
Interakt, from Jio Haptik, is one of the better-known WhatsApp tools in India, and for good reasons.
- Broadcasts to your own list. If you have thousands of opted-in customers, you can send a new drop or a sale to all of them from your own number.
- A shared inbox. Several people on your team can answer chats, assign them and see who replied.
- Store automations. Connected to Shopify or WooCommerce, it sends abandoned-cart reminders, order confirmations and delivery updates on its own.
- Your number, your green tick path. The API number is yours, and you can work towards a verified badge on it.
- Rupee billing. Plans are priced in ₹, which keeps your costs steady.
If you already have a website doing steady volume and people whose job is customer chat, Interakt fits the way you work today.
Where the two models really differ
Who does the selling
Interakt hands your team better tools. Somebody still has to read "is this available in XL?", check stock, reply, and nudge the buyer to pay. At 11pm. On a Sunday.
Behaf puts a sales agent in that chat. It answers size, fabric, delivery and payment questions from your own product details, suggests what goes with the item, and asks for the order. When a question needs you, a custom request or a big order, it passes the chat to you on WhatsApp.
Where the money changes hands
With most Interakt setups, the chat ends with a link to your website. The buyer leaves WhatsApp, lands on a product page, fills a cart, types an address and pays. Every one of those steps loses people, and on a phone it loses more.
With Behaf, the product card, the cart and the PayU checkout open inside the same WhatsApp thread. UPI, cards and cash on delivery all work there. The buyer never opens a browser tab.
What you pay in a slow month
Interakt's plan renews whether you sell 400 orders or 4. Behaf has no plan. If a month is slow, your Behaf bill is ₹0.
The cost, worked out
Here is one month for a brand selling 40 orders at an average of ₹1,000, so ₹40,000 in sales.
| Interakt Starter | Behaf | |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fee | ₹999 (billed yearly) | ₹0 |
| GST on the platform fee | ₹180 | Included below |
| Payment gateway fee | ₹944 (2% of ₹40,000 + GST, paid to your gateway) | Included |
| Meta's WhatsApp charges | Extra, for each marketing or utility message you send | Included |
| Per-order fee | None | 40 × (₹50 + ₹5) = ₹2,200 |
| GST on the per-order fee | None | ₹396 |
| Storefront and checkout | Your website, paid separately | Included |
| Who answers the chats | Your team | Included |
| Total | ₹2,123 + Meta's charges + your website | ₹2,596, all-in |
Courier charges are left out of both columns, because you pay them either way. The gateway line assumes a 2% fee, common for Indian payment gateways. Yours may differ.
On these numbers, Interakt's entry plan costs less once you pass about 29 orders a month at ₹1,000, before Meta's message charges, which grow with every broadcast you send. That comparison still leaves out two things Behaf's fee covers: the storefront and checkout, and the person answering chats. If you already pay for a website and a support person, the flat plan can be the cheaper line item. If you don't, those are the costs that decide it.
On a single ₹1,000 order with Behaf, you keep ₹935. The payment gateway fee is already inside that number. Shipping is charged by Shiprocket at its rates.
Which one to pick
Pick Interakt if
- You already have a Shopify or WooCommerce store that converts well.
- You have a team, or at least one person, whose job is answering chats.
- Your main use for WhatsApp is broadcasts and order updates to customers you already have.
- You want everything on your own WhatsApp API number.
Pick Behaf if
- Your buyers find you on Instagram and message you to order.
- You don't have a website, or your website isn't where orders actually happen.
- You are the one answering DMs, and you would rather be making the product.
- Your sales go up and down, and a fixed monthly bill hurts in the slow months.
- You don't want to apply for WhatsApp Business API access or deal with Meta verification.
Behaf is a weaker fit for catalogues with more than 500 variants, for B2B wholesale, and for brands whose website already does the selling well.
Moving from Interakt to Behaf
- Apply on Behaf. It takes about two minutes. Behaf is invite-only while it opens with its first 100 brands, and verifies each one.
- Upload your products. Photos, prices, sizes. About ten minutes once you're verified.
- Connect Shiprocket so pickups get booked for you.
- Share your storefront link in your Instagram bio, stories and ads.
- Keep Interakt until your plan runs out if you use it for broadcasts. Nothing needs migrating, because Behaf doesn't use your WhatsApp number.

Frequently asked questions
Is Behaf a WhatsApp Business API provider like Interakt?
No. Behaf doesn't sell you API access or an inbox to run. It hosts your storefront on its own verified WhatsApp number and runs the sales conversation, payment and shipping for you.
Do I need a website to use Interakt?
Not strictly, but most of its commerce automations connect to a store such as Shopify or WooCommerce, and buyers usually pay on that website. Behaf doesn't need a website at all.
How is pricing different between Interakt and Behaf?
Interakt charges a monthly plan, with Starter from ₹11,999 a year (about ₹999 a month) plus GST, with Meta's WhatsApp charges and your payment gateway's fee on top. Behaf charges nothing monthly: 5% + ₹5 per shipped order, plus 18% GST on that fee, and that covers WhatsApp (Meta), AI and payment gateway charges.
Can I use my own WhatsApp number with Behaf?
Your storefront runs on Behaf's verified number, which is why you don't need Meta verification or API access. Your own number stays free for the WhatsApp Business app or any other tool.
Who answers customer questions on Behaf?
Behaf's AI sales agent answers product, size, delivery and payment questions using your product details. Custom requests and high-value chats are passed to you on WhatsApp.
Can I take my customer list with me if I leave Behaf?
Yes. Your customers and order history are yours, and you can export them at any time.
