Dial terms
The rules for using Dial, in plain words. Dial is run by Behaf.
The short version
- Dial makes phone calls you ask for, in your name, and says it is an AI at the start of every call.
- You are responsible for why you call and who you call. No spam, no sales blasts, no tricks.
- You pay from a prepaid balance. It does not expire, and you can ask for the unused part back if you close your account.
- We never train AI on your calls unless you say yes.
- AI can make mistakes. Check what matters.
- Something wrong? Write to us and we will answer.
What Dial is
Dial is an AI phone caller. You ask your AI app (such as Claude), or the Dial app, to make a call. Dial calls, talks to the person who answers in the language you choose, and tells you what happened. Dial is by invitation while we open it up. We may change how access works.
Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older and able to make a binding agreement.
- You need an invite or an approved account. Existing accounts keep working.
- Give us true details. We may ask you to verify who you are before your first call.
- If you use Dial for a company or brand, you confirm you can bind it to these terms, and that you and the company are responsible for the calls you place.
- One person, one account. Do not share your login.
How a call works
- You give a goal, who to call, and what Dial may say or agree to. Dial follows what you set. It will not invent facts about you.
- Every call opens by saying that an AI is calling, and for whom.
- Calls may be recorded and turned into a transcript and summary, so we can show you what happened and bill you correctly. Our privacy page says how long we keep them.
- Dial never asks anyone for OTPs, passwords, card or bank details, or Aadhaar numbers, even if you ask it to.
- Calls are placed only at sensible hours, and some numbers are blocked, such as emergency and premium-rate numbers. In an emergency, dial 112 yourself.
- If a person asks not to be called again, Dial records that and does not call them again for any user.
Your responsibility
- Call only for lawful purposes, and only people you have a real reason to contact.
- Make sure you are allowed to contact the number, including under the Do Not Disturb register and any consent your call needs. Dial is for personal and service errands, not marketing or promotion.
- What you tell Dial to say is your instruction. You are responsible for it, including anything you ask Dial to agree to on your behalf.
What you must not do
- Sales, promotion, surveys, lead lists or any bulk or repeated calling.
- Pretending to be someone else, a bank, a government office or a person you are not.
- Threats, harassment, abuse, or debt collection.
- Fraud, scams, or collecting OTPs, PINs, passwords or card details.
- Calling emergency services, or anyone who has asked not to be called.
- Calls about political campaigning, regulated financial, insurance or medical advice, or anything else that needs a licence we have not told you we hold.
- Trying to get around limits, number checks or safety rules, or to reverse-engineer or overload Dial.
Wallet and refunds
- You pay from a prepaid balance. Current prices and the minimum top-up are shown on the pricing page and in the app before you pay. Taxes, where the law requires them, are shown at checkout.
- Your balance does not expire.
- Calls that do not connect are not charged.
- If you close your account, you can ask for your unused balance back by writing to us. We will return it to the way you paid, less any payment fees we cannot recover, within 30 days. We may withhold it if we find fraud.
- If a charge looks wrong, write to us within 30 days of the call and we will look into it.
- We may set daily limits and a spending cap on new accounts, to protect you and the people you call.
- The balance is credit for Dial services. It is not a bank account or an e-wallet you can use elsewhere.
Your content
- What you give us (goals, details, numbers) and what comes back (transcripts, summaries) stays yours.
- You let us use it only to run Dial for you: make the call, bill it, keep it safe, fix problems, and meet the law.
- We do not use your calls to train AI models. We will ask you first, in plain words, if that ever changes.
- We do not sell your personal data.
When AI is wrong
Dial uses AI for speech, translation and decisions. It can mishear, misunderstand or give a wrong summary. Do not use Dial alone for anything where a mistake could harm you, such as medical decisions, legal or financial commitments. Set clear limits in your instruction and check the summary. We do not promise that every call will connect or reach the result you want.
Suspending an account
You can stop using Dial and close your account at any time. We may pause or close an account if you break these terms, put people at risk, or the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you why and how to appeal. We return unused balance as described above, unless we find fraud.
Our liability
- We provide Dial with care, but we cannot promise it will never fail or be unavailable.
- Our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before it arose.
- This limit does not apply to our fraud or wilful misconduct, or to anything the law says cannot be limited.
- We are not responsible for what the person you call says or does.
- If a claim comes against us because of how you used Dial in breach of these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable losses.
Changes and contact
- We may change these terms. For changes that matter, we will tell you at least 15 days before they apply. If you disagree, you can close your account.
- Indian law applies, and the courts in India can hear disputes. Please write to us first; most problems can be solved that way.
- Questions and complaints: Jerish Jacob, Grievance Officer, jerish@behaf.co. We acknowledge within 72 hours and aim to resolve within 30 days.
- How we handle your data is on the Dial privacy page.
